標題: 所以你真以為那個英國人是在誇你？千萬警惕英式套路！

　　雙語君年少時，曾有個英國朋友，然而不知為何，友誼的小船說翻就翻了。

　　明明覺得對方一直很nice啊，還總是在夸人……

　　後來雙語君才明白，自己只是沒能聽出人家的話外音，中了他們的英式套路。

　　但是學習一種語言的最高境界，就是弄懂這些「套路」了吧。

　　1"I might join you later."

　　嘴上說著：

　　「我待會兒就來加入你們。」

　　心裡想的卻是：

　　I'm not leaving the house today unless it』s on fire.

　　放心吧，除非房子著火，我今天是不會踏出房子半步的。

　　2"Excuse me, sorry, is anyone sitting here?"

　　嘴上說著：

　　「不好意思，抱歉，這個位置有人嗎？」

　　心裡想的卻是：

　　You have 3 seconds to move your bag before I get really annoyed.

　　我數三秒鐘，再不挪開你的包我就要發火了。

　　Not to worry."

　　嘴上說著：

　　「沒關係。」

　　心裡想的卻是：

　　I will never forget this!

　　「抱歉。」

　　其實：

　　Saying 『Sorry』 as a way of introducing yourself.

　　說「抱歉」只是介紹自己的一種方式。（完全是口頭禪好嘛）

　　5"It's a bit wet out there."

　　嘴上說著：

　　「外面有點潮濕。」

　　實際情況卻是：

　　You're going to need a snorkel because it's absolutely pissing it down out there!

　　你需要一個水下呼吸管才能出門，因為外面絕對是在下瓢潑大雨！動圖

　　

　　6 "It's fine.""I'm fine."

　　嘴上說著：

　　「還好。」「我很好。」

　　最容易誤會就是這個「fine」了。"How are you?""I'm fine." 課本洗腦循環啊有沒有！？你以為是人家說挺好的……

　　It really couldn』t get any worse, but it probably will do…

　　7 "Perfect!"

　　嘴上說著：

　　「完美!」

　　其實想說的是：

　　Well that's ruined then!

　　呵呵，搞砸了！

　　8 "A bit of a pickle."

　　嘴上說著：

　　「有點小麻煩。」

　　（由酸黃瓜pickle衍生而來的表達）。

　　實際情況卻是：

　　A catastrophically bad situation with potentially fatal consequences.

　　情況不能再糟，堪稱災難現場，完全是生死攸關。

　　9"Not too bad, actually."

　　嘴上說著：

　　「不算太糟，事實上。「

　　實際心理活動卻是：

　　I'm probably the happiest I've ever been.

　　這可能是我人生中最開心的時候了。

　　

　　(歇斯底里狂笑ing~)

　　10"Honestly, it doesn't matter."

　　

　　嘴上說著：

　　「講真，這真不礙事。」

　　心裡想的卻是：

　　Nothing has ever mattered more than this.

　　就沒有比這個更麻煩的事兒了。

　　11"No, no, honestly it was my fault."

　　

　　嘴上說著：

　　「不，不，講真的這是我的錯。」

　　心裡想的卻是：

　　It was absolutely your fault and we both know it!

　　這絕對是你的錯好嘛，我們彼此都很清楚！

　　

　　12"That's certainly one way of looking at it."

　　

　　嘴上說著：

　　「這當然也是一種看待事情的方式。」

　　心裡想的卻是：

　　That』s certainly the wrong way of looking at it.

　　這當然是一種錯誤的看待事情的方式。

　　13 "If you say so."

　　

　　嘴上說著：

　　「如果你要這麼說的話。」

　　心裡想的卻是：

　　I'm afraid that what you're saying is the height of idiocy.

　　恐怕你現在說的話已經蠢出新高度了。

　　

　　14 "With all due respect"

　　

　　嘴上說著：

　　「雖然對您尊敬之至，但請恕我直言。」

　　心裡想的卻是：

　　You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

　　你完全不知道你都在胡說些什麼。

　　15 "You're welcome."

　　

　　嘴上說著：

　　「不用謝。」

　　實際情況卻是：

　　Saying 'You』re welcome' as quietly as possible to people that don't say thank you, but using it as a form of punishment.

　　如果你沒有說「謝謝」，但英國人卻幽幽地說上了一句「不客氣」……

　　嗯，準備好接受懲罰吧。

　　16 "I beg your pardon."

　　

　　嘴上說著：

　　"我請求你的諒解"。

　　實際上想表達的是：

　　a) I didn』t hear you;

　　我沒聽到你說了啥；

　　b) I apologise;

　　我道歉；

　　c) What you』re saying is making me absolutely livid! 你現在說的話讓我極其憤怒！

　　

　　17 "Each to their own."

　　

　　嘴上說著：

　　「各有所見。」

　　心裡想的卻是：

　　You're wrong, but never mind.

　　就是你錯了，但是無所謂了。

　　所以這麼多英式套路，你們都get了么？

　　不過說話是門微妙的藝術，具體含義當然還要看具體語境啦！
