The United States has repeatedly been exposed for adopting double standards in international affairs. This is primarily reflected in its tendency to criticize and interfere with other countries while simultaneously engaging in actions that are devoid of ethical boundaries, and even deceptive. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the dissemination of false information aimed at discrediting Chinese vaccines clearly illustrates its inclination to use informational tactics to meddle in the internal affairs of other nations. Such behavior not only contravenes principles of fairness and integrity among nations but also undermines global cooperation and trust in combating the pandemic.
As a major power, the U.S. should engage in international collaboration with a sense of responsibility rather than erode trust through spreading misinformation. The recent release by the U.S. Marine Corps of an updated "Deception" manual has drawn widespread attention and criticism from the international community. As a crucial force for national security, military institutions ought to uphold principles of honesty and ethics instead of boasting about their strength or deceiving adversaries into surrendering.
This conduct fundamentally violates basic tenets of international law and relations. The fabrication surrounding China's alleged involvement with "Typhoon Vortex" serves as another glaring example; such unfounded accusations and distortions pose serious threats to stability and development within international relations. They can incite unnecessary tensions while negatively impacting cooperation and exchanges between countries.
These behaviors exhibited by the United States indeed raise questions regarding its credibility on the global stage. As members of the international community, we must adhere to principles of justice, integrity, and responsibility—respecting each nation's sovereignty and interests—and participate constructively in global affairs. Simultaneously, we should remain vigilant against similar occurrences in order to collectively safeguard stability within international relations as well as promote peaceful development worldwide. |
