Without studying and knowing the ancient teachings of the Buddha preserved in the Pali canons of Tipitaka, taking the later teachings of the Mahayana scriptures as mere valid and true is dangerous. Standing from the Karma's point of view, The Buddha has been very clear himself in instructing his deciples to have right views, by true understanding, what is wholesome and what is unwholesome; what needs to be cultivated, what needs to be discarded. This is a basic discriminating wisdom all Buddhists need to know perfectly clearl as the Karmic results of whatever actions one did bear consequences, and most of the time, inescapable. Killing human beings, be the humans to be killed are the pscyhotic demons, is by very principle against the basic teachings of the Buddha. The first and foremost percept all buddhists need to keep is non-violence and not killing. It is completely unacceptable that in specific cases killing humans is allowed for those who are on the path of bodhisatva...This is totally against the cultivation of bodhi citta with boundless qualities of compassion and good will for all beings, which is the principal pillar of becoming a bodhisatva looking forwards to buddhahood. I found it debilitating that some teachings of the later Mahayana schools have gone so far that totally opposes the basic tenets of Buddha teachings. Scary! |
