Hi,Qu,
I have read your email. And from that, I can tell you have already possessed good English skill. Since you are so eager to the improvement, I think you will make it as time goes on.

Actually, there is no special clue to learn a language particularly fast but to improve oral English by talking English more often; to better written English by writing and reading more frequently may be the maxim. English is easier to learn than the Chinese because the latter is learnt word by word, and the former is generally by a sentence.

Youe have touched a significant point of interpreting English. Your way is: Inputting a Chinese way of Thinking in mind then interpreting it into English. I don't think it is a good way to do it. Since Chinese has Chinese way of thinking that is different from that of the English. Such a way may just slow down the time of response in conversation.

Why not try another way by directly and boldly speaking out a few English words first, then speaking slowly word by word to make up the whole sentence? I think this maybe a better way of learning the oral English. As times goes by and often practice, this practice may make your oral English greatly improved.

P.S.
In addition to answering you email, I may also post my email to the English Forum, Backchina-com

有點clumsy. 看看這個怎麼樣。

Hi,Qu,
I have read your email. I can tell that you have already possessed good English skills. Because you are so eager to improve, I believe you will make it as time goes on.

Actually, there is no easy way to learn a language quickly. One can improve spoken English by speaking more often; to improve written English; one can achieve it by reading more and writing frequently. English is easier to learn than Chinese because the latter is learnt word by word, while the former is generally by the whole sentence.

You have touched a significant point in translating English. Your way is to think of your answer in Chinese and then translates it into English. I don't think it is a good way. The Chinese way of thinking is different from that of the English. (and Americans are different from the English also) Mental translation may just slow down the conversation.

Why not try another way? Directly and boldly speak out a few English words first, and then speak slowly word by word to make up the whole sentence. I think this maybe a better way to practice spoken English. As times goes by and with practice, this will greatly improve your spoken English.

P.S.
I may also post this email to the English Forum, Backchina.com
