澳大利亞：一天主教神父性侵男童被判刑，受害人庭上鼓掌歡呼

10月3日，在法官宣讀被告人的刑期后，澳大利亞新南威爾士州地區法院里爆發出一陣鼓掌和歡呼聲，一位原告沖被告喊道：「你現在得意不起來了！」

　　這一場面發生在被告人保羅-伊萬斯被判入獄的裁決被宣讀之後，57歲的伊萬斯因性侵犯男童已在今年7月被判有罪。伊萬斯曾擔任天主教某教會的神父長達 15年，也曾是所屬教會寄宿學校的教師和舍監，他被指控在1977年至1988年間先後性侵犯七名寄宿學校的男生，包括在宿舍內或外出旅遊期間強迫男生與他發生性關係。

　　伊萬斯被判成立的18項罪名包括在教師身份下與學生發生同性性關係。法庭判處伊萬斯入獄15年，並在9年半內不得保釋出獄。判詞被宣讀後，坐在旁聽席上的多位受害人和家人對這一結果鼓掌歡呼。

　　伊萬斯的刑期被宣讀後，一位受害人在法庭外對媒體說：「我們曾有過陰暗的日子，現在輪到他了」。澳大利亞通訊社報道說，一名遭受過伊萬斯性侵犯的男童曾試圖切除「被伊萬斯玷污過的腿部」，另一位受害男童曾因家人不理會自己關於受害經歷的傾訴而燒毀了自家房屋。

Cheers as priest gets 15 years for sexual abuse

VICTIMS of Paul Raymond Evans clapped and cheered from the public gallery of the NSW District Court yesterday after the Catholic priest was handed a 15-year prison sentence for sexually abusing teenage boys in his care.

Evans, 57, who was a parish priest on the NSW central coast for 15 years, was convicted in July of committing 18 sexual offences against seven boys when he worked at Boys Town Catholic boarding school in Engadine, in Sydney's south, between 1977 and 1988.

Evans was found guilty of nine counts of homosexual intercourse by a teacher, seven of indecent assault and two acts of indecency.

After the sentencing, several of the victims and their families applauded. One person in the courtroom was heard to shout, "rot in hell", while another said to Evans, "You're not so special now".

During the trial earlier this year, which coincided with the Pope's apology to the Australian victims of sexual abuse within the Catholic Church, the court heard that Evans had molested the teenagers in their dormitory and on weekend camping trips.

In his sentencing remarks yesterday, judge Robert Hulme told the court one of the boys tried to burn his leg with "molten plastic" and later tried to cut off circulation in an attempt to have it amputated, following an episode when Evans ejaculated on him. "He still bears the scars," Justice Hume said.

Another of the priest's victims burned down the family house after telling his father that Evans molested him. His father had laughed off the claim, the court heard.

Handing down the sentence, Justice Hulme said he took into account the severity and frequency of the offences, the position of authority the priest held at Boys Town and the possibility for his rehabilitation, which the judge described as "reasonable but not good".

Speaking outside the court, one of the victims, who cannot be identified, described the outcome as "an excellent result".

Evans will be considered for parole in 9 1/2 years.
