地震之後，我的校長，香港理工大學即將卸任的校長潘宗光

昨天和高中同學打了電話,人家說學校要求學生捐血,我下意識的回了一句, "你們校長捐血了嗎", 對方被我搞得有點難看, 我不開心,因為這種要求或者說組織, 更像是強制性的.

很快,我就要畢業了,在我離開學校之際, 讓我感受到了一種榮耀, 來香港4年了, 這次地震是第一次學校呼籲捐款, 這是呼籲,是校長直接給每個人發郵件,我覺得這和以前強制性的捐款很不同, 雖然我還沒有畢業,但我還是僅我所能. 但我對校長的做法很感動,尤其是和同學比較之後. 我的校長是一個絕對愛國的人,據說70年代香港,他和一些人是出了名的一中分子, 大家如果有興趣可以查一下他的背景,他叫潘宗光.

2008年, 萬眾一心, 才是主色調. 如此這般, 中國何以不富強.

Dear Colleagues & Students
It is indeed heartbreaking to learn that Sichuan has been hit hard by China's worst earthquake in 32 years. This disaster has claimed the lives of more than 10,000 people and left tens of thousands of victims homeless. These victims are desperately in need of help.
I have therefore decided to launch a PolyU-wide campaign to collect donations from our colleagues and students for the earthquake victims. To kick off the campaign, I have pledged HK$100,000 (one hundred thousand dollars) to support this initiative.
The PolyU community has always contributed generously to help victims of natural disasters.  I am sure that all of you will again be willing to lend a helping hand and show your care by contributing generously to this worthy cause.
You can deposit your donation into a special PolyU bank account 024-280-277476-009 at Hang Seng Bank on or before 23 May. In addition, donation boxes have been set up at the Reception Counter of the Hostel, the SAO Counter on the ground floor of the Communal Building, the Library, and at the footbridge to KCR. Donations raised will be forwarded to the Disaster Relief Division, Ministry of Civil Affairs of the Central Government via the Central Government's Liaison Office in Hong Kong.
If you wish to obtain a receipt for tax deduction purposes (receipt will be issued by the Central Government』s Liaison Office for donation of HK$100 or above only), please send your bank-in slip, together with your personal particulars to your Departmental Co-ordinator for onward transmission to Miss Miranda Kwok of the Alumni Affairs and Development Office.
Please note that SAO has also set up a telephone hotline (2766 6800) to provide assistance to those who may have been affected by the disaster.

各位理大同事、同學：
相信大家都已知道，四川省前天（五月十二日）發生了強烈地震，逾萬人被無情的天災奪去了寶貴的生命，令人心酸！是次地震強度是我國唐山大地震後另一浩劫，除死傷枕藉外，亦令數以十萬計災民無家可歸，極待各界加以援手。
我們與內地同胞血濃於水，目睹同胞受災，豈能坐視不理？我在此呼籲理大師生慷慨捐輸，讓災民感受到香港理工大學仝人的支持與關懷。本人率先認捐十萬港元，希望大家痌瘝在抱，同聲響應。
請把捐款於二零零八年五月二十三日或以前，存入本校特別為賑災募捐而在恆生銀行開立的帳戶（帳號：024-280-277476-009）。此外，我們亦在學生宿舍接待處、文康大樓學生事務處櫃台、圖書館及通往火車站的行人天橋放置了捐款收集箱。所有捐款將經由中聯辦賑災辦公室轉交國家民政部救災救濟司，全數撥作救災之用。
如果你需要捐款收條作扣稅用途（捐款一百元或以上可獲中聯辦發收據），可將銀行存根，連同個人資料，由所屬部門的統籌員收集，並轉交校友事務及拓展處郭詠欣小姐一併辦理。
此外，學生事務處已設立電話熱線（二七六六　六八零零），為受地震影響的同事和同學提供協助。
