Biblical Teaching on Sin 串珠讀經-罪

For far, we have learnt that the entire human history is filled with full of sinful deeds. As a Christian, we have known that the sin is both separate from and against God. From human being point of view, the sin leads us in to the eternal condemnation, if God not interfering with the process.

As a conscious Christian, we are also aware that even after being saved, we still have some residual sinful nature inside of us, that we have to deal with sincerely, in order to accomplish the process of sanctification.

Let's take moment to review the biblical teachings on sin and keep alarm always in our daily life to not leave a loophole for sin to resume the control on us.

Genesis 4:7
If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it."

Genesis 15:16
In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure."

Genesis 18:20
Then the LORD said, "The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous

Genesis 31:36
Jacob was angry and took Laban to task. "What is my crime?" he asked Laban. "What sin have I committed that you hunt me down?

Genesis 39:9
No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?"

Genesis 42:22
Reuben replied, "Didn't I tell you not to sin against the boy? But you wouldn't listen! Now we must give an accounting for his blood."

Genesis 50:17
'This is what you are to say to Joseph: I ask you to forgive your brothers the sins and the wrongs they committed in treating you so badly.' Now please forgive the sins of the servants of the God of your father." When their message came to him, Joseph wept.

Exodus 10:17
Now forgive my sin once more and pray to the LORD your God to take this deadly plague away from me."

Exodus 16:1
[ Manna and Quail ] The whole Israelite community set out from Elim and came to the Desert of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after they had come out of Egypt.

[ Water From the Rock ] The whole Israelite community set out from the Desert of Sin, traveling from place to place as the LORD commanded. They camped at Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink.

You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,

Exodus 23:33
Do not let them live in your land, or they will cause you to sin against me, because the worship of their gods will certainly be a snare to you."

Exodus 29:14
But burn the bull's flesh and its hide and its offal outside the camp. It is a sin offering.

Sacrifice a bull each day as a sin offering to make atonement. Purify the altar by making atonement for it, and anoint it to consecrate it.

Exodus 32:21
