First, I would like to apologize that I will have to post ALL my posts in English. As I don't know how to type Chinese at all.
I saw many posts which many people complain the disapointment living in oversea (oz or NZ...). I would like to tell two stories: one is my own; and another is a native (european) oz. I hope that may useful for people in here.
I came to Australia more than 10 years ago. I used to work in a hospital as a junior doctor in China. My parents believed that Australia has more opportunity for us. They 'convinced' me to make that faithful move to Australia. Just for the record: both of my parents are doctors. I had never in my life that I needed to do any physical work in China.
I got few thousands oz dollars in my pocket as I landed. In those days, many Chinese only had few hundreds which only can last one to two weeks in Australia. As soon as I landed, I had to face the biggest change in my life: I was no longer a doctor, and I had to do physical work to support my self!
I am not going to name the physical jobs I did. For some reason, I just didn't work for our Chinese before.
In my gut, I knew that I HAVE to get my job back as a doctor in Australia.
Before I left China, one of my doctor friend teased me: he will keep the eye on the local Chinese paper - I will confess with the headline of 'Still Better Living In China' ONE DAY.
My spouse and me decided to take challenge: Sit the medical qualification examination and get our doctors jobs back. We have already had two kids our self and have to study all over again! We had to study & look after our baby at the same time. No one could help us at all.
NONE of our friends in Australia believed that we can make it.
But we DO. Both of us.
Now we are amount those 'few lucky one'. But only after a long, very very hard work and struggle.
Now, the story about a native (european) oz. Some of you may see my old post before. Bear with me as I repeat the same story for someone didn't see it before.
He is never very bright kid. But he always wanted to become a doctor as his grandfather was a doctor.
He didn't do well in the high school. He could only get a TAFT post.
He finished the TAFT then transfered to Uni. He completed Science Degree with an Honor. But he was rejected for a position in the medical school.
So, he went on for a Master Degree. But he was rejected again.
He then finished a PhD. He got into Medical school after he had already a doctor (PhD)!
He was age of 45 year-old as a hospital Inern (1st year medical doctor).
I just want to tell you: as long as you has a plan, you always have a chance to secceed in Australia.
I can only tell you a story about doctor. As this is my job.

Good story and Well done 'Unilover', I lieve that 'no matter where you are, and what you are, as long as you do not give up yourself, there is no body can destroy you.
glad for u~
start his career at age of 45, i don't know if it is too late for most of us.
cause we are facing different society, most of my frends are born in late 70th or early 80th, most of us are the only child in the family. we can't keep on waitting and trying until we are 45, cause at that age, our parents are all getting old,and need $ to takeing care of.
any way, we won't give up, hope life would tread us well. wish everyone good luck.
Well, thanks for your little touching stories, which certainly make me feel better about myself somehow. But I guess every single of us (Chinese in OZ) has our own stories to tell, and those stories are definitely gonna be different, coz we are all different individuals. So one learning: walk on your own path.
50%,YOU STILL CAN NOT MAKE YOUR OWN.
