You are kidding! The media household income is far less than 50K, and I believe at the range of 30-35K. Check City-data for any city and you will see it.

Never a problem for high school graduates, who can always rely on sufficient and available Federal/state financial aids. The most common reason some people didn't have a colleage degree is that they didn't like the idea of going college while young.

They just don't have this order of preference (i.e., first house then kids' high ed.), and most of them have no plan for a horizon that long. They treat mortgage as rental, and I believe that not of all of them think seriously of owning a house.

That is known as inflation hiking, but the real increase. Generally speaking, the housing index is still relative stable compared to that of health insurance. Only the two coasts saw a big increase in house price recently. Unbelievably, the increase in ed. exp. is generally mild, except in Californa, where the UC systems raise tution by about 8% this year. |
