Back home from Canadian trip?

I have 13 lenses.
I did not go go Canada (it was on my July agenda though. Sadly, the Nigara Falls Air Show is cancelled). Canada came to US. It was in Jones Beach, Long Island, NY.

Impressive. But why so many overlapped lenses? Definitely have some reasons, right? Any experiences? Any recommendation for those lenses? I already know about Sigma 150-500.
They really do not have much overlap besides the 28-75mm in F2.8 lineup for DX body. The 18-70mm & the 70-300mm are part of my light pack & kids' toy if they do not break them (by the way, they broke one DC, one lens & one flashlight before. Getting better lately). The primes are for certain situations. If you are not really crazy about the brand name, the tammy's 17-50mm & 28-75mm are really good lenses. If I have to pick up all my lenses for DX-body now from UWA to telezoom I would still pick up Tokina 11-16mm, Tamron 17-50mm, & get the Nikkor 70-200mm VR II replacing the 80-200mm. The rest is pretty much dependent on each individual's interest, craziness & budget.
how about NIKKOR 1424, 2470 and 70200 II? They should work for most cases. It's said that these zoom lenses, especially, the former two beat a couple of nikkor prime lenses. Or try several ZF lenses. New feeling, new thinking.

14-24mm is definitely out of question. Not only it is not intended to be used on DX body but without a filter thread? No way, I would scratch the bulged out front element in no time. The 24-70mm is in my mind but not until I upgrade to an FX body. 70-200mm, like I said, I would get it if I do not have the 80-200mm (with me for almost 20 years, sort of spiritually bonded) already.
Actually, the one I want the most right now is the 200-400mm f4. My home boss gave me a dirty look when I just mentioned it & told me to put kids through college first.

hehe, these 3 lenses are designed for FF camera, for APS-C, 70200 I is enough. My nikon friend have 1424 and 2470. Very impressive, especially the 1st one. these 3 ones cover 14-200mm range. Enough for most cases, like events. For telephoto lenses, the prime ones are 1st choice. Zoom tele lenses are better to show photos online, but not for fun.
