What movie are you guys talking about. That's pretty much your average Detroit daily life anyway. Am an not exaggerating. Too much.
Dangerous citizen alert? What did Kwame do this time?
Oh great, it's the Chinese that are the bad guys now. Well, we gotta do something now that Yugoslavia went kaput.
I'm so ronery
Pics 4 and 12 look like regular run-of-the- mill Detroit street crime pics...
i kid, i kid,
You know what's funny is despite all the talk about propaganda, America isn't portrayed as the enemy nearly as much in China as the Chinese is here. I mean China has other forms of propaganda as well, but seriously, America really really likes to show China as evil.
@LionZoo: China is evil: they eat cute little turtles, and, if they go to church at all, it's to worship gods which aren't Nordic-looking Jews.
@LionZoo: That's because they're damn COMMIES! Those pinko Commie bastards with their mobile execution vans and free/50% off Tibet and roaming death squads with their AK-47s, ready to shoot bloggers in the face at a moment's notice!
Just ask Richard Gere.
That fucking bastard.
I wonder how the Chinese are going to sneak up on us in this one. Maybe they're digging a tunnel from Tibet to Detroit or sneaking a ride in a fleet of Seagrams trucks out of Windsor?
@Number_Six:
Remember all those holes we dug as Children? And when our parents asked if we where digging to China?
Yup, they finally had enough holes dug to China to invade. It's all our youths fault.
A bunch of my military vehicle collector buddies were involved with the shooting of this movie.
Lots more behind the scenes pics here:

Although you may have to be a member to see the pics....can't remember.
@clinto: hey,i have a dodge truck like that D-series (But it's a little better looking)..My question is what role does that truck play in the movie,if you happen to know that is.
@purebusiness: No clue whatsoever. My only familiarity with it is the pics and stories my buddies told us about using their trucks as extras in the film.
Chinese give Detroit a Hummer. Satisfying explosion ensues.
@engineerd: I believe that's known as a happy ending.
@Jagvar: and we all know that Detroit could use a nice tip about now
If they have this take place at the University of Michigan I'm gonna be pissed. I fucking hate that school and team. And I don't want to be referencing a cheer for them when I am killing commies. I just won't stand for this bullshit.
@jodark: Ferris State! Woo!!!
@jodark: If it makes you feel any better, those of us who went to that school and follow that team don't care whatsoever what you think of it, and will ignore indignant, futile cries that you will not stand for anything related.
Also, we will yell "Go Blue!" at random intervals just to be a**holes. Because it's fun.
(Randomly, you didn't happen to go to Ohio State, did you? Them peeps are CRAJI with UofM psychotic hatred to an extent not quite understood by their northern neighbors.)
@NoelleBlue: Again I call bullshit, because Michigan is 2nd only to California in states that wouldn't be able to fend off an invading army. Besides, Detroit would practically welcome the Chinese due to their love of all things socialized and communist, and a blind hatred for all things awesome like guns.
The economic plan is working! granholm is providing scores of jobs for the residents of gotham with the tax incentives for movie production! Families that depended on a middle class income from assembly / production work can now make minimum filling steam table pans to feed the film crews while manufacturing businesses find favorable locations in other areas of country. Brilliant!
I also wonder, how much asbestos was tossed into the air by these old building detonations?
@Steve_in_NC: So *this* is what she meant when she said, "In 5 years you're gonna be blown away."
@engineerd: blown is right.
Chinese Hummer, that sounds like a good thing though?
I really wish I was near Detroit, I'd love to be a extra in this film.
WOLVERINES!
SO funny the chinese are the invaders in this one as they lost 400 million (if I recall correctly) in the last movie fighting with us. Global war doesn't make sense to me, just like 1984, we fight who they tell us is the enemy at the time...
@ospreyguy: Apparently you forget about the little part where the Ruskies were with the Germans before they were against the Germans in real life history. Sooooo, it's a very plausible scenario.

Blue is a non-indigenous-to-Michigan furry animal?
- now with reheat!! Turbineguy - now with reheat!! 10/08/09
I guess 25 years is long enough to forget all the awfulness that was the orginal Red Dawn?
That photo is funny, seeing as Hummer is now owned by a Chinese company.
@Turbineguy - now with reheat!!:
sinner, Red Dawn is a great movie. Highlight of the '80's Cold War with the Russkies.
@Turbineguy - now with reheat!!: You spelled "awesomeness" wrong.
[quote]@lilwillie hides autos in the attic: Oddly coincidental this movie is being made coinciding with Patrick Swayze's passing? |
