As said before, any country using 「human rights」 to hijack Beijing Olympic is doomed to fail! Except few countries in western world (notably U.S. and U.K.), most other western countries have many more 「Human Rights」 issues than in China (Tibet is inseparable part of China)!
I have worked and lived in more than 20 countries in Western Europe, North America for more than a decade. My personal experiences and collected facts point to one conclusion: How China treats Minorities is at least 10 times better than most western countries, if not 100 time better.
In the world, there are only two countries officially have 「affirmative action policy」 for minorities, one is U.S., and the other is China!
In China, a minority can use their privileged status to get promotion, going to Universities or simply filled a competitive employment vacancy. My former University president was promoted to that position simply because he is a minority! Those minorities, of course, include Tibetans.
Tibet was a slavery society before the Chinese (just borrowing BBC words, although Tibetans are 100% Chinese) went there in 1950s. By then, less than 3% of Tibetans (the upper class) owned more than 95% of the remaining population, not to say the whole land and other resources in Tibet. The lowest class Tibetan was worth only one straw rope, not longer than 1 metre, with the diameter less than 10 cm! All those inhuman, unjust treatments for most Tibetans have long gone since the so-called Chinese 「invasion」!
As for the 「Human Rights」 issues the French often referred to, I would like them to simply shut up! As a minority expert who has helped the French to build the most advanced semiconductor technology in Europe, and as a Chinese origin engineer who has spent almost six years in France, my personal experiences have told not just me, but also other non white minorities in the whole world that the Chinese human rights record for minorities is at least 10 times better than the French!
In France, highly educated minorities, including Chinese are 20 times more difficult to find a job than European origin ones. And racism and harassment for most minorities in this country has become rampant, and a part of French Racist Culture now, which is particularly true for Chinese origin people!
In France, north-eastern Asians, the Chinese or Koreans couldn』t even rent an apartment easily just because of their names! In minus 5 to 10 degree winter, those Chinese or Koreans tenants were cut off water, electricity and gas, they had to live in freezing cold with no water to drink, no gas to heat, no electricity to light for just only one simple reason which is that they are north-eastern Asians, having Chinese or Korean names!
Those north eastern Asians have to pay 10 times more expense on electricity, water and gas et al utilities! One white American family (with 7 persons) living in a castle, which has more than 10 bedrooms, plus 3 living rooms and 2 bathrooms (more than 500 square metres), paid only 300 EURO a month for water, gas and electricity. But a Chinese family (only two, and the wife even not stay there for long) who lived in a small 2 bedroom apartment (barely 65 square metres) had to more than 500 EURO for those utilities mentioned above monthly even during summer time, in August!
The French can openly threaten a north eastern Asian with death both in office and in public! One Frenchman, called Thierry Reboot (SOB), used to threaten a Chinese fellow with such words that the French man would kill a Chinese if he is going to be with a white woman. The scenario accounted for that threatening was that when a young French lady approaching a male Chinese student for some academic discussions.
There are still many, many more Human Right abuse issues in France. Take an example, under the same condition, a Chinese origin employee couldn』t get the same scholarship from the Ministry of labour the other French employees got. Harassment and threatening of Chinese origin workers in the work place now is an integral part of Damn Racist French culture.
So, when the French put on a banner 「Human rights for French and the World」 right in the front of Paris City Hall to support the so-called 「Tibetan Human Rights」 during Chinese OLYMPIC Torch Relay. Every one can see that how hypocritical, how despicable, and how villainous those French claims are!
It is better for the French to simply shut up when talking about human rights! Those French 「Human Rights」 are true fat lies, which were especially mean and pathetic when the French used that to sabotage Olympic Flame! That conclusion can also be extrapolated to most western countries!
