　她來自westlife和boyzone和故鄉，這位新進的愛爾蘭歌星正在猛烈地襲擊全球的排
行榜，她就是薩曼瑟-孟巴（samantha mumba）。孟巴是一位非洲血統的愛爾蘭歌手，現
在的大本營在倫敦。
　　她素以即興演出著名，她的成功證明愛爾蘭人也可以玩rnb。 這位小妹妹今年19歲
，來自愛爾蘭首都都柏林。16歲開始在夜總會扮作美國歌手唱歌。後來瓦爾什（louis
walsh）慧眼識英才，把孟巴收到了旗下。些君就是boyzoen和westlife的幕後經紀人，
於是又一顆愛爾蘭新星誕生了。孟巴來到了westlife的成員邁克法登（brian mcfadden
）的同一所舞蹈學校學習，兩人還成為了好朋友。
　　 小妹妹的第一首單曲《gotta tell you》發行第一周就打上英國和愛爾蘭流行榜的
榜首，並進入了美國告示牌單曲榜的第10位，這對於一個來自都柏林的默默無聞的小女
孩簡直是一個不可思議的成績。她的第二首單曲《baby to baby》也在英國榜上高居不
下，希望在歐洲其它國家也得取得同樣的佳績。這首歌曲模仿了大衛-鮑依（david bow
ie）1980年的經典《ashies to ashes》，鮑依對小妹妹的演繹著迷不已，提出要給她拍
mv，不過後來老兄做了爸爸，要在家裡洗尿布，只好放棄了。
　　孟巴相信她的成功應該歸功於她的外表不落俗套，這世界上已經有太多藍眼金髮的
歌手了，但仍有空間給一個黑皮膚，風格獨特的愛爾蘭女孩。
　　 小姑娘的樂迷不全都是少男少女，連北愛新芬黨領袖阿當斯（gerry adams）也對
她著迷。孟巴不僅成為排行榜大熱和小報頭條，最近還盛傳她將於威爾-史密斯（will
smith）合作，拍一部關於拳王阿里的新片。現在聽眾對孟巴有足夠的興趣，她的受歡迎
程度與日俱增，看來她不會成為只靠一曲走天涯的歌手。可能這是愛爾蘭小妹妹的幸運
，但也有可能小甜甜布萊妮和拉丁性感小妖christina aguilera要走著瞧了，因為她們
又多了個競爭對手。
