Have you ever wondered why foreigners have trouble with the English Language?

Let's face it
English is a stupid language.
There is no egg in the eggplant
No ham in the hamburger
And neither pine nor apple in the pineapple.
English muffins were not invented in England
French fries were not invented in France.

We sometimes take English for granted
But if we examine its paradoxes we find that
Quicksand takes you down slowly
Boxing rings are square
And a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig.

If writers write, how come fingers don't fing.
If the plural of tooth is teeth
Shouldn't the plural of phone booth be phone beeth
If the teacher taught,
Why didn't the preacher praught.

If a vegetarian eats vegetables
What the heck does a humanitarian eat!?
Why do people recite at a play
Yet play at a recital?
Park on driveways and
Drive on parkways

You have to marvel at the unique lunacy
Of a language where a house can burn up as
It burns down
And in which you fill in a form
By filling it out
And a bell is only heard once it goes!

English was invented by people, not computers
And it reflects the creativity of the human race
(Which of course isn't a race at all)

That is why
When the stars are out they are visible
But when the lights are out they are invisible
And why it is that when I wind up my watch
It starts
But when I wind up this observation,
It ends.

"English is a stupid language.
There is no egg in the eggplant
No ham in the hamburger". "park on driveway and drive on parkway"

You can say that again. Actually I thought Chinese is a very smart language. Like one day, I felt like throwing up. I know it is the word "Nausea". I felt very burdensome in my heart, so I thought of the word "噁心" in Chinese, because it decribed exactly my feeling of that time! How smart is that !

Another day, my husband and I discussed the word "沒心沒肺", for sure we talk about its extended meaning. My husband told me that  "沒心沒肺" means "沒腦子", because at the begining It is believed everything is control by the heart instead of brain. Language is in evolution, and the society is moving forward, (the evils is more rampant... sorry, this has  nothing with the topic)...
多一絲快樂, 少一些煩惱;
不論鈔票多少, 只要開心就好;
累了就睡, 醒來就微笑;
生活是什麼滋味, 還得自己放調料;
一切隨緣, 童心到老, 快樂一生

those are apparently and wildly used among virtuality,no matter how much are marvelling us, however we have to admit that's one of the reasons we wish to understand and trace back from this fresh culture which give a silly impression in front of those thousand yrs bet.
