earlybird.
You were right. But 轉交 is not applicable in most western countries. It is typical Chinese way.The people will ask why you don't send him or her directly? if 轉交 necessary, you just mention it on the letter but not on the envelope.
Do not jump to conclusions.
cos:
1.some ppl can not or do not want to receive some letters directly for some reseasons,
for example, accoriding to some companies or schools policy.
or they do not want to be bothered by customers , etc.
I can summit my letters or assignments to my tutor(supervisor) directly if he is in his office, otherwise, I can go to the reception of my department, ask the staff to transfer to him( I am in western country now),just need to write: attn tutor's name(one of my classmate told me that attn is the way of business letter.)
2. some ppl can not write to other ppl(maybe the receivers go out for travelling or on business, or other reseason) direclty, so ask their friends to transfer the letters to them.
In addtions, you can say 轉交 in English, it means that is not only Chinese way. right? |
