道德經 第六十六章 海



江海之所以能為百穀王者，以其善下之，故能為百穀王。

是以欲上民，必以言下之；欲先民，必以身後之。

是以聖人處上而民不重，處前而民不害。

是以天下樂推而不厭。以其不爭，故天下莫能與之爭。



江和海能彙集很多山谷溪流成大，是因為他們處在下方，所以能彙集很多山谷溪流成大。

所以要處於別人的上級位置，在言語方面必須表達謙遜如下級。要領導人民，必須把自身的利益放在人民的後面。

所以聰明人位居人民之上，但人民不感覺到壓迫；位居人民的前面，但人民沒有嫉恨。所以天下人樂意推舉這樣的人而不厭惡。因為聰明人不爭，所以天下人沒能與他競爭。



The reason that the river and sea become the king of many valley creeks is that they are at the low place. Therefore, they become the king of many valley creeks.

Therefore, to be at the higher position of others, you should be humble as a lower position person while speaking to others.  

To be a leader of others, you should put your interests after others』.

Therefore, the wise person is at the higher position of people, but people do not feel oppressive. He is at the lead of people, but people do not hate him. People under the heaven are pleasure to elect him but not hate him. Because the wise person does not compete with others, the people under the heaven cannot compete with him.
