Could you please elaborate your comment on the "yep" at the end of "Thinking Aloud"?

I was sort of hesitating, when I almost fininshed, over the appropriateness of putting it at the end. I should have known better not to, since it's a slang word which quite stands out like a soring thumb.

I was wondering if you meant that when you said that it spoilt the whole article?

You said it. 1) "Yep" is a slang and doesn't belong to a formal essay; 2) It's very abrupt at the end, really like a rude interruption.
