====================================
,ivy PhD。
Once these people are legalized, do you think they should be given the same
priority for green card application as people who were legal immigrants all
the time?
她: I don't know. legal immigrants typically have resources, they will be
fine even if they go back to home country. However, illegal immigrants came
cross the desert, they are risking their life for an opportunity. You guys
take exams, study really hard, that's nothing compared with them.
Me: Great. I have several friends who are ivy phds, it took some of them 6-7
years to get a green card. These guys are top 1% in China. The same
situation happens to many Indians also. I am just curious, is it to the best
interest of US to not keep these elites?
她: I don't know. Do you think these illegal ppl should also take 6-7 years
or longer to get green card? We lack Hispanics in the upper class. We also
really need ppl to do our cleaning, to be baby-sitters. We need them more.
These top 1% ppl can find a job anywhere, but these illegal immigrants came
cross the desert.
