LZ was quoting an article, which contains criticisms of the heavy-handedness in promoting PTH. As mentioned in the article itself as well as stated by LZ, no one is suggesting that the policy of promoting PTH as the national language be reversed. However, there should also be breathing room for local languages. Again as mentioned in the article, if both Cantonese and English could thrive in HK during British rule, why can't we duplicate that for PTH and Cantonese?
