well, well, you have to know the subtle differences between those two words: apology and sorry. here was what cameron's "apology":"...on behalf of our country, I am deeply sorry"....
that would wash away the legal responsibilities of the british government. also read this:"..Some members of our armed forces acted wrongly. ...". basically here, it implied that those soldiers opened fires on that truly peaceful civil rights march without authorization.
from what i read, there were no riots, no commotions between cops/british troops and demonstrators, no hold up any sort...
"sorry" as an english word, doesn't have weight in legality, but an official apology does. that is why the usa refused to use the word of "apology" for the case of the collision between usa spy plane and chinese fighter jet in 2001. |
