I get to know English when I was in high school. I liked English very much. I remember I was good at English and I usually checked the other students test sheets for my teacher, as trading, my English teacher lent his magazine "English field" to me to read because my family was very poor ( I was from countryside), I didn't have money to book this kind of magazine. With the teacher's help, I got a very good score -135 out of 150 at the University entrance test. (by the way, I got 147 out of 150 on maths).
Then I got the chance to go to Beijing University of Chemistry Techology. I studied poly molecule material. Half of my classmates were from Beijing. I remember when we had the test for alloting fast and slow class in English . I wasn't assigned to fast class by one scroe difference. I knew the start points were different, I had no clue about listening, however, on that test, we had listening. It was so ridiculous that I didn't understand one sentence at all. the only thing I can do was jut to guess.
At university, I was still very interested in English. Through my effort, I passed level 4 test when I was in the next year , and level 6 when I was sophister. After gratuation, half of my classmates studied TOFEL and GRE, then they applied for scholarship and got chance to study in USA. However, I was very lazy and I got married right away after my graduation. I taught English for one yr in a Bejing middle school, later on that school shorted Chemistry teacher, because my profession is Chemistry, since that I taught chemistry in the same high school. I had been teaching for 6 yrs, till 2001, I got the chance to immigrant to Canada. |
