How do you guys cope with passing wind in public?
I sound like a train at times and it smells so bad whilst flaring, am thinking about returning to work but the gas is no better rather ripe in fact. Not to put to finer point on it i have to leave the room i'm in when i let one off! I have been taking probiotics and have charcoal tabs but nothing works HELP

I have no advice, but I too have a problem with gas. Mine are the silent and deadly kind so I don't have to worry about the noise. But my problem is when I am at the gym. When I am working out I sometimes cannot hold it in and it seeps out... No sound, but wow what a foul odour. I can only pray people assume it is from a guy next to me. Not sure why people are more prone to assume men fart in public than women, but it works for me!Female, 43, Vancouver BC

This is too funny, cause lately I've had some terrible gas! Smells just god-awful, you'd think a sewer backed up. I always feel SO BADLY for my co-workers, because we work in a pretty small area.... It's silent, usually. I try to remain seated, sort of trap it in the seat, but jeez, if I go to stand up after farting.... oh man, I just want to die! I never say anything, just try to pass it off on the customers!diagnosed with UC '02
meds-
Asacol- 8 tabs/day
Remicade-10mgs/kg- from 4/07 thru 1/10
Humira- started 1/10
Imuran- 150mgs/day
various probiotics & fiber supplement, kefir, turmeric

Does the smell of our gas have anything to do with how severe a flare is?
When I was first dx and in my original flare the smell was VERY bad and very potent...when I went to the hosp the doctor assumed it was IBD just by that smell on its own..27 yr old female
UC since Aug 2006
Been a constant battle since Feb 08 after the birth of my son
HUMIRA JUL2008- JAN 2010
Salofalk 9 pills a day
Salofalk Suppositories 1g each night at the moment
Fish oil, VSL, Vit D, Vit C, Vit B12 3x weekly Flax oil, reduced red meat, refined grains and dairy
 
 
Current Status: 1-3 BM a day, no blood, urgency issues getting better


值得一提的是這些加國女性的屁事交流都患有Ulcerative Colitis 潰瘍性結腸炎. 潰瘍性結腸炎是一種腸道疾病。原因尚不清楚。
