作者簡介



徐英才，原上海復旦大學英浯教師，在復旦任職十多年，曾於1984年被派往加拿大麥克馬斯特大學授課並研讀加拿大文學。1990年代初赴美國德堡大學留學，研讀英美文學，畢業后留校工作。目前教學課程包括「漢英英漢翻譯實踐與理論」、「中國書法實踐與理論」、「中國電影史」、「中國當代文學」等。已出版的譯著有《英譯唐宋八大家散文精選》、《英譯中國當代美文選》、《經典散文英譯》等。

據報道，北京時間24日上午（當地時間23日下午），國家主席習近平攜夫人彭麗媛來到位於美國塔科馬市的林肯中學訪問。

習主席向林肯中學贈送了乒乓球桌、球拍、乒乓球等體育器材和《紅樓夢》等中國傳統文化圖書。上海外語教育出版社出版的《紅樓夢（漢英對照）》（五卷本）、《英譯唐詩選》、《英譯宋詞集萃》、《英譯唐宋八大家散文精選》、《英譯屈原詩選》、《英譯老子》、《英譯易經》、《英譯中國文化寓言故事》、《英譯中國現代散文選》、《英譯中國經典散文選》赫列其中。

近年來，外教社響應國家「中國文化走出去」戰略，著力打造了一批文化傳承和傳播價值厚重的漢外對照中國文化出版物。此次作為國禮贈送的《紅樓夢（漢英對照）》（五卷本）是中國古典小說的巔峰，是霍克思和閔福德兩代漢學家歷時四十餘年完成的英譯本是翻譯的至臻精品。「外教社中國文化漢外對照叢書」目前已出版30餘種，從詩經楚辭、唐詩宋詞到中國當代短篇小說和散文，譯文從英語到德語、西班牙語，成為向世界介紹中國文化的重要窗口。

With the autumnal theme and the beautiful style throughout, this work could well be considered a sonnet. I thoroughly enjoyed reading these observations of the authors views on autumn in both the southern and northern regions of China. China has always remained something of a mysterious entity to me. It sets there on the face of our planet, a country of billions, it's government appearing, at least to this uninformed observer, standoffish at best. A country Americans once looked upon as a threat. with their nuclear tipped missiles and the willingness to use them, if you listened to the rhetoric coming from various representatives of the Communist government. In 2016, China appears to be a contributing member of the world of nations, happy to live in peace. Eager to trade in both commodities, ideals and ideas. I would like to believe the United States along with the rest of Western civilization share the love and enjoyment of autumnal musings, autumnal blooming, if not of a botanical bent perhaps more of a human one. Love, understanding, tolerance in our interactions with other peoples whether on the global stage or one on one. We all share this tiny sphere we call earth. Our global habitation increases at unprecedented rates. What generations will at last discover our land mass cannot sustain our human populations and sustain the beasts that feed us? What generations will, with amazement and shattering surprise discover our Earth is inadequate for survival of .... cf

Hi xiaoman, this is a really gorgeous, atmospheric piece. I really enjoy your way of showing autumn through all of the senses. I agree that a lot of Western European poets have gushed about autumn in their work. Everyone experiences the seasons differently. I enjoyed reading your experience. The lyrical prose fits the subject. It's almost like a scientific observation journal but much more poetic.

寫作或翻譯好與壞， 由自身作品說了算，作者，譯者本人說的不算， 如果譯文，書的本身已獲得眾多德高望重的翻譯專家鑒定，認可， 而且獲得民間讀者的好評如潮， 卑鄙小人怎樣惡毒貶損都是沒有用

This is true, but people often survive in car accidents, and seldom survive in air crash. One air crash for a person is enough. He is forever gone. If he is involved in several car accidents, he may still be alive and enjoy his life. So there is no comparability between the two.             I always think how we can reduce death rate in air crash. I suddenly think of the parachute. We can't provide every passenger with a parachute and train them how to use it before boarding. However, why can't we install three huge parachutes in the airplane, one in the front part, one in the middle and another in the tail part? The parachutes can automatically open in air crash just like the airbag in the car, which will hinder the pull of the gravity. Can anyone who reads this article spread my idea to the experts that they can make the invention? Thanks for saving life.

His brain commanded every action, including thinking, speaking, etc., in this young body.             He was now over seventy, and one day he was found to suffer from gall blander cancer and he would not live long. In the same hospital he stayed, there was a young man who had an accident and died. He paid a lot of money to have his brain transplanted in the skull of the deceased. The operation was a great success. So he got another life.       Now he could learn more new things to make him more knowledgeable. He became the most learned person in the world as he had two lives added up. He was proud of it. If he could revive over and over again in this way, he might be able to live till the end of the world. But he forgot to reckon that his brain cells could not live forever.

第3樓 海外逸士 發表於: 2012-07-25 23:13:58 引用回復 -----   英文介詞的固定搭配 英文中介詞與它後面作介詞賓語的名詞經常有個固定的搭配。學英文者在學習過程 中必須注意﹐並記住﹐才能在使用時不錯。以下一些例子只是一部份﹐以供參考﹕ 名詞 farm 前習慣用介詞 on﹐如He works on a farm﹐不說 in a farm。 還有﹕at night﹐ in the night。要注意的是用at 時﹐night前面沒冠詞﹐有了冠 詞及其他修飾詞﹐就用in。同樣﹐at school﹐ in the school。 He sits on a chair (in an armchair) in the corner of the room. 用in表示在 屋角內﹐在房子裡面。 He stands at the corner of the street. 用at表示位置﹐ 站在路角上。如果路角上有幢房子﹐他是在房子外面。The house is on the corner of the street. 房子座落在路角上。 還有﹕in the street﹐ on the road﹐ on the way to somewhere﹐這都表示在路 上﹐街上。因為street指兩邊有建築物的街道﹐所以用in. 至於in a way 這裡的way跟 路沒關係了﹐指方式方法。 He lives on this street.這表示他大致住在這條路上。 He lives at 15 Main Street. 表示確切地點。至於介詞of用法更多。如﹕the Japanese invasion of China﹐是of的賓格用法﹐表示動詞invasion後面的China是邏輯賓語﹐ 動作的承受者。而the invasion of Japan into China﹐則是of的主格用法﹐表示 invasion後面的Japan是邏輯主語﹐動作的執行者。作為「的」解釋的of是修飾格﹐ 如The beauty of spring charms everyone.另有一個用法﹐He is a devil of a man.他是個魔鬼般的人。這是of同位格的用法﹐因為of前面的devil和後面man指同 一個人﹐屬同位關係﹐像同位語一般。名詞前面都用不定冠詞。of還有一個功能﹐可 以代替其他介詞﹐如He comes out of the house.按語義來講﹐從房子裡出來﹐應 該說out from the house﹐這裡的of是代替了from。這裡的of還可以省掉﹐即out the house。 有些動詞後面用介詞與不用介詞﹐意思不一樣。如 He shoots the bird. 他射中或 射死了那鳥。如果說He shoots at the bird.意思是他對著那鳥射擊。至於有沒射 中﹐這層意思在句子裡沒表達出來。介詞at在這裡的意思是「對著某一目標﹐以什 麼為目標」。再如The police search the person.警察搜這人的身。搜的動作到達 那人身上﹐因為person直接作了動詞search的賓語。而The police search for the person.警察搜尋這人。search動作沒有直接到person上面﹐中間隔了個介詞for﹐ 表示追求﹑尋找的目標。 總之﹐介詞的固定搭配用法很多﹐不能一一提及。平時閱讀時﹐自己多注意﹐並記 住。

This is true, but people often survive in car accidents, and seldom survive 「in air crash」.「越細微，越有深度。」much more cad accidents不對，應該說many more car accidents；in air crash不對，應該說in an air crash。還是複習一下基礎英語再寫吧。
