- Well, the picture is clear. The island would never go independence without the permission from both U.S. and China and those countries will never grant it to the island. So, the idea of independence would never be materialized what-so-ever. Therefore,the leadership of the island has the responsibility to tell the truth to the people and work for the best interest of the people in the right way. The best interest is to build a good relationship with mainland. The first thing is stop up-setting mainland with independence policy going on the island and then, to cut a deal over the table. Otherwise, the island is just keep on going downhill until it have to beg mainland for help or, mainland people come across the strait at the right time in uniforms.
