傳統中醫之現代定義
The Definition of Traditional Chinese Medicine
村裡武林高手如雲。擂台比武熱項之一乃「中醫 vs 西醫」。本人奇好炎黃文化，讀罷幾乎所有關於中醫的帖子，但仍未能理出個頭緒來。突然在腦記憶單元中冒出了一句東坡名言：「不識廬山真面目，只緣身在此山中。」 而恍然大悟。以下是在山外的老美學堂裡教的傳統中醫的定義：
In the terminology of Medical Anthropology, any healthcare system occurred on our planet is always a bio-culture synthesis (http://www.cudenver.edu/sma/index.html.). There are many definitions for Traditional Chinese Medicine in history. In our class today, we provide a simplified and more precise definition of TCM:站在人類學這座山外山之高瞻遠矚新巔峰上來俯瞰中西醫學發展的歷史長河，不難發現在咱們這個星球上的任何一個醫療系統，都是一個科技和文化的有機結合體。因此，傳統中醫的定義是：
TCM is the Holistic & Herbalic Medicine guided by the Chinese philosophy of the Systematic Herbalism developed throughout the 8,000-year civilization of the Chinese culture cradled on the land of 10M (KM)2 (approximately 2.5 billion acres).
中華醫學是會聚上下八千年，縱橫千萬里，一個勤勞智慧勇敢民族的醫藥文化文明的結晶貢獻。
本定義之數學表達是 Our logical expression of TCM in mathematics is the integration over the space and time:
TCM = ∫x∫y∫z∫t CC x (HM + HT) dxdydzdt ***
*** Where CC stands for Chinese Culture 中華文化, HM for Herbalic Medicine 中華本草, HT for Holistic Therapies 中華針砭; ∫x∫y∫z dxdydz is the space 地域 integration cover the land about 2.5 billion acres and ∫t dt is the time integration of the history and prehistory 歷史加史前史 over 8,000 years.按照這個定義：
1. 任何對中華本草和中華針砭的思考，探討，研究，承傳，教育，應用，發展，拓新...... 都離不開中華文化。文化未必唯物，故中醫超越唯物主義。
2. 中醫不應與現代化隔絕。中華文化日益氣勢磅礴，中醫理應亦生機盎然。不少美國 MRI 核磁共振成像機器的說明書第一章就將鐵磁在醫療上的應用，首先歸功於中醫。EKG 心電圖的設計原型就是中醫的脈學。大腦神經測試儀就是啟發於中醫的經絡電脈衝針灸儀。嶺南中醫在清末民初就已領先國外使用電療。科學成果不能只讓西醫霸佔。請記住，西醫之父古希臘希坡格拉底的四色液理論，還比不上同史期的西漢中醫太蒼公淳於意陰陽血氣的四元素理論！因此，向前進，反復辟，是中醫的唯一出路！
