漢譯趣味美國俚語（5）

學習活脫脫的美國大街上普通人講的英語。逗樂部分在漢譯，我起個頭，看看誰能譯的最溜，最傳神，最嚴絲合縫 （「信」，「達」便可，嚴復老的「雅」就不必了）。

Ammo

名詞

(1) 彈藥

There they were, trapped in a foxhole with no ammo, enemy all over the place. What do you think happened?

就那樣，他們困在了一個狐狸洞里，動彈不得，外面到處是敵人。你知道是怎麼回事么？

I don』t know. They sent out for ammo, maybe?

鬼知道，要不就是他們派人找彈藥去了，是不？

(2) 能支持一個爭論的論點，或用來攻擊某人的信息或證據

I want to get some ammo on the mayor. I think he』s a crook.

我要搞點市長的材料。我認定他是個騙子。

Try to keep my traffic tickets a secret. The opposition will use them as ammo in the next election.

一定不能讓那些報銷的旅行費用曝光。反對黨會用這些在下次選舉中搞我。

Ankle

（1）名詞。有吸引力的女人/女孩子

Now, there』s some ankle I』ve never seen around here before.

告訴你，這裡有漂亮女孩我以前從沒見過。

Do you get ankle like that around here all the time?

你在這個地方總能搞到那樣漂亮的女孩子？

（2）不及物動詞。辭工

One more day like this, and I』m gonna ankle.

再來一天這樣的鬼日子，我就開路。

I didn』t fire her. I told her she could ankle if she wanted.

我沒有炒她。我只是跟她說，她要走可以走。

Apple-polisher

名詞。馬屁精

Doesn』t that wimpy apple-polisher know how stupid he looks?

那可憐的馬屁精不知道自己看上去有多蠢！

Everybody at the office seems to be an apple-polisher but me.

辦公室里看上去都是馬屁精，只有我不是。
