i don't think so. that area is open for foreigners.
the really needed are heavy lifting choppers so that chinese rescue teams can move those heavy equipments into isolated areas. the road to beichuan is totally destroyed and right now everything relies on the shoulders of soldiers and regular choppers. professional or not, without heavy equipments, with bare hands, not much of differences
not exactly right. i have been to japan quite a few times. in japan, you just don't see this kind tough terrains. now some of the roads to wenchuan are cleared up and now they can come in. without roads, do you expect them to hike into the mountainous areas?
