a lot of countries offered aids, which is greatly appreciated. it will depends on what kind of aids. money? great! goods such medicines, heavy equipment, also most welcome. but not those search teams. what china going to do with those foreigners? for pla sodilers, they would die to save chinese, they had walked 60 miles, carried food and supplies with their shoulders, in order to get to beichuan (so far known as the worst hit city). they are working under very harsh conditions and very long hours, with very minimum supplies for themselves(save as much as possible for those survivors). are those foreign professional going to do that? i mean, are those foreign professionals going to just drink a bit water, few bites of some food to work 12 or even 16 hours a day? i doubt on that...
as some chinese said, with those foreigners, chinese government would have extra burdens: take care of them, watch out safety for them... why bother, everything those foreign professionals can do, we chinese could do too, if not better. |
