Sorry, I have no idea about D200. D90 has the function of automatic increase of ISO to certain limit (I could set it, for instance 1600), starting from certain threshold (based on the shutter speed). That's why live is simple for me even if I used the Manual. For instance, if I wanted to take photos at least 1/1000 fast, then I would set the ISO automation threshold at 1/1000. When exposure is not enough at what I set (for instance, F8, 1/1000), the ISO would be increased to keep the exposure correct until ISO reaching the limit. Because of that, I normally set this function off so the ISO would not go up unnoticed.
Hope your camera has this function too. Or you need a new one 
how about D300s or D700 or D3? 
BTW, the new 50-500 seems too big, 95mm, yours is 75mm, right? |
