sixpedhy, i posted your question elsewhere and got a reply that suggests using "visit...", for instance, "visit a grave". 金山詞霸 explains this chinese term as "visit a grave to cherish the memory of the dead". 金山詞霸 also offers a sample sentence that reads: 我要去墓地掃墓。I will go to the burial ground to sweep a grave.
