The stanza - "emptiness is not different from form, form is not different from emptiness; emptiness is form, form is emptiness" - is phrased and should be understood from the standpoint of one's direct knowledge or insight meditative experience. It is to break through the delusion of compactness among phenomena, experiencing the transient nature of mind and matters. Confusion will occur if this stanza is discussed and understood intellectually, because the whole intellectual reasoning can never stand without using concepts and conceptualized ideas, which are to be discarded in direct, experiential knowledge.
