Now a days, there are three verse for songs of a fixed pattern. If I can remember the last verse, the emotional part, it is good enough. I am picky, most of the pop songs, I hear one, and I forget it afterwards, poor me. Maybe you could divers  the formats, adding instrumental spiritual verse into pop, based on the topic? Maybe you can make the melody more emotional and spiritual to touching people's heart and soul? The topics, lyrics, are the part really gives life of the song..........most of the pop songs are plain in words, rough, low, narrow view in life. Maybe the composers need to lift themselves upper more to see the world wider, to understand others better, to feel the inner emotions deeper?
