A THEOREM ON SALARY
Dilbert's (Nobody knows who this fellow is !) theorem on salary states that scientists, engineers, professors or doctors will never be able to make as much salary as corporate executives or sale people.
This theorem can be mathematically proved based upon the following three postulates:
Postulate 1: Because Knowledge Is Power, therefore Knowledge = Power (知識等於力量).
Postulate 2: Because Time Is Money, therefore Time = Money (時間等於金錢).
Postulate 3: As indicated in the high school physics textbook, Power = Work/Time (力等於作功和時間之比).
Then Dilbert's salary theorem is proved as follows:
Because of Postulate 1 and Postulate 3, we have
Knowledge = Work/Time (a)
Because of Postulate 2, then from (a) we have
Knowledge = Work/Money (b)
Solve the equation (b), we finally have
Money = Work/Knowledge (c)
Thus, as (c) mathematically indicates, when Knowledge approaches zero (which means no Knowledge at all), Money approaches infinite (which means more than anybody can possibly handle) regardless of the amount of Work done.
CONCLUSION:
The Less You Know, the More You Make. |
