After Monday's closing bell, Rambus Inc. /quotes/comstock/15*!rmbs/quotes/nls/rmbs (RMBS 16.40, -1.43, -8.02%) said it lowered its outlook for the second quarter because of weaker chip sales. The technology licensing company now expects second-quarter sales of $26.7 million to $27.2 million, down from a previously forecast range of $27 million to $30 million. Analysts surveyed by FactSet Research estimate quarterly revenue of $27.3 million.
Watch list Ford Motor Co. /quotes/comstock/13*!f/quotes/nls/f (F 5.37, -0.01, -0.19%) is expected to have its request for billions in federal loans to develop new, fuel-saving vehicles and technologies approved by the Department of Energy on Tuesday, the Detroit News reported. Congress last September approved a request from Ford and other automakers for $25 billion in loans. Ford submitted a business plan to the Senate Banking Committee late last year in which it said it expects to receive $5 billion through the program by 2011.
