"For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, The fountain of living waters, To hew for themselves cisterns, Broken cisterns That can hold no water."
This analogy of life with water is very vivid. If the body is a container of life, as a cistern holding the water, the two sins bring double damages to the body, as the damage to the cistern: cutting off the water sypply makes the water no longer available to flow into the cistenr; and destroying the cistern lets the remaining water flowing away.
The body is the same: seperating from God makes no life any more from God to man, and corrupting the life remined in the body after God has stoped His supply of life makes that remaining life even shorter.
