An English Post from a Chinese Tibetan Sympathizer

First I am a Chinese, educated in the west, a life-time anti-communist. I was deeply involved in the 1989 student movement. I've been to Tibet many many times and have a lot of Tibetan friends. For years I did research on Tibetan history, culture, religion. I have been moved by the Dalai Lama and I still am. I consider myself a neutral.

However, looking at how recent events unfold, looking at how both sides behave themselves, my feeling is, the anti-China gang is losing what really matters to them.

Sure, you can call Hu Jintao Adolf Hu. You can also compare Beijing Olympics to the 1936 one in Germany. But ask people, Chinese or western, who are living in or have seen China lately, do they really believe that Hu is Hitler and China is anyway remotely comparable to 1930s Nazi Germany? I noticed some German media kept using pictures of Nepal police against protesters to claim the China Bad Guy is suppressing Tibetan people again. I am curious about their intentions, but, regardless, they must have a special talent in that, I saw them doing that all the back to 1920s and 1930s. It only serves to outline the extent to which people can be so utterly against reasonable knowledge and common sense.

Do the Tibetan people choose them as allies? It\'s your CALL!!!

I have been watching the development of democracy in Taiwan. I was initially excited, then dismayed and disappointed by the DPP in Taiwan. Still remember in the late 1990s when DPP was representing the suppressed, the righteous, and hope? Where are they now? What does it tell us? The distance between political correctness and fanatics is often a matter of a few years.

There is only one truth. I believe truth ultimately wins.

Did the communist do bad things in Tibet and to the Tibetan people? Yes, they did, terrible things. Unforgivable.

But did the Tibetan side, including their de facto allies in western media, tell all the truth? I DO NOT THINK SO. They lied just as much as the communists. They tried just as much to demonize each other.

I was reading the news about the mess in Olympics Torch relay, and comments made by some Tibetans. There was a genuine sense of excitement and,  perhaps, enjoyment. Unfortunately, that\'s how mass media can affect the direction of history. The history guided by mass media is often dominated by the mindless heads on the street, full of stupidity and mean spirit. Unfortunately, the great minds and hearts like Dalai Lama and their wisdom and teachings are often shadowed by the circus display repeatedly shown on mass media, just like average people turn to prefer Hollywood crap over a religious meeting.

Let me ask those cheered and contributed to the torch mess, have you really won anything? I can give you my verdict. You lost what you could have won.

Think about this, what are the things that matter most to you? funding from western intelligence agencies and "charitable funds"? chants of those German media? They mean nothing!!! absolutely ZERO, and NEVER will!!!

Let me remind those who may still be able to pull back a moment of coolness, the communist will eventually be gone. Maybe in 20 year, 30 year, or 50 years. It\'s the mutual understanding and good will between the Chinese and Tibetans that will best serve both sides, settle disputes and, pave the way for peace.

The Tibetan people may choose to go the Dalai Lama way, that will eventually lead to the same success Mandela achieved, to reach peace and reconciliation through forgiving and tolerance. The Tibetan people can also choose to indulge themselves in the over excitement of western mass media and escalate their hostility against Chinese, use every opportunity to embarrass the Chinese and demonize them.

IT"S YOUR CALL!!!

But I will tell you, if you choose the latter, you will certainly have one less friend.
