A GRAPHIC anti-abortion pamphlet featuring photos of aborted fetuses has shocked unsuspecting families across Melbourne and country Victoria.
Outraged families from Melbourne, Bendigo and Gippsland contacted the Herald Sun after discovering the pamphlet in their letterboxes on Sunday and Monday.
It purports to have been sent by the Tell the Truth Coalition and authorised by D. Kelly.
Depicting images of a 24-week-old dead baby soaked in blood, an aborted eight-week-old fetus and the hands of an aborted 11-week-old fetus, the pamphlet was in an envelope addressed to the "adult household".
A Newborough family told the Herald Sun their five-year-old niece opened one of the letters; their own daughter found another in their letter box.
"I believe everyone has a right to their own opinion, but to send it to households through the mail, where there is a possibility that children can see this, is disgusting," the girl's mother said.
"People, please be wary of mail that is addressed to the adult householder."
A Bendigo woman who gave birth to a severely premature baby several years ago, was sickened by the images after receiving an envelope marked "your discretion advised".
A phone number for the Tell the Truth Coalition listed on the pamphlet was not answered yesterday, and the message service was too full for the Herald Sun to leave a message. |
