The Greek NT contains only 5000 original words, although each has like 36 grammatic variations. I remember when I studied for the GRE years ago, I memorized 5000 words in 6 months. Of course it will be harder to study NT Greek than GRE vocabularies, but it is still very possible, especially when you guys are so young.
OT Hebrews is a little more difficult, but is still within reach. There are many software tools around to help us read them.
Remember our goal is very modest, just to be able to read the Bible in its original languages. We are not talking about being an expert or anything. This goal is very reachable in 2-3 years, while working full-time.
Crossing is living in San Diego, right? If you are interested in the original languages of the Bible, I suggest you can take a course in NT Greek with Dr. Mark Strauss in Bethel Seminary San Diego. He is an excellent NT professor.
