　　看到唱片封套你會以為Shivaree是這個女生的名字，而她的名字其實是Ambrosia Parsley，連發音都很有音樂質感。從小聽著祖母的四弦琴成長；在比薩店和老年班卓琴樂隊的交相輝映之下有了第一次舞台演出；13歲背個小包袱邁出家門，邊走邊唱；遇到吉他手DukeMcVinnie，得到更多的建議和長進；這些成果又剛好被和TomWaits一同巡演的鍵盤手DannyMcGough在一次聚會上聽到。於是，上帝總是可以這樣把故事湊齊，這支三人樂隊叫做Shivaree。

　　Shivaree 最初的錄音湮滅得比錄製的時間還快，但不久就炮製出史上名字超長的專輯《I Oughtta Give You a Shot in the Head for Making Me Live in This Dump》， Shivaree2002年第二張錄音室作品《RoughDreams》充滿奇思妙想，其中《Wagers》像是 Billie Holiday在用techno-folk的形態表演，名謠前輩JoniMitchell附體靈魂唱腔的調子也在這張專輯里綻放，整張專輯涌動電子碎拍、哥特這些超濃度的浮流。企圖心永遠不代表結果，這張作品沒有在美國開花結果，反而差點把他們送出音樂版圖。

　　昆汀·塔倫蒂諾及時拉了她、或者說他們一把，《殺死比爾2》的原聲帶里選用Shivaree的一首《GoodnightMoon》，甜美而頹廢，備受追捧。很多人都是從昆汀迷人、歪瓜裂棗的電影音樂里發現自己原來是有品味的。
