1941年1月9日出生於美國紐約Staten島上.我們經常聽到的與"民謠皇帝"Bob Dylan齊名的"民謠女皇"的稱號就是指的Joan Baez.Baez作為民謠界女性權威演繹者的地位是在1959年Newprot民謠節上的演出后奠定的.她對民謠音樂的理解加上天生的近乎完美的嗓音使得她成為50年代之後民謠音樂中的一棵奇葩.


        瓊·貝茲是美國最著名的民歌手之一，也是60年代美國民歌復興運動的中堅分子。瓊·貝茲的嗓音純正柔和，演唱吐字清晰、富有樂感。ＣＤ發燒現場錄音也屬天碟級錄音．她通常用吉他自彈自唱，有時也配以樂隊伴奏，舞台表演風格樸實無華。
