什麼是「Flexible Spending Account Plan"?

被僱主問要不要申請「Flexible Spending Account Plan"?網上查了一下，看的稀里糊塗。 哪位給個解釋？
網上講存入plan賬戶的錢可以免稅，頂醫療費等等。如果這錢沒有花，這錢什麼時候怎麼拿回來？有利息嗎？如果換工作怎麼辦?

you will contribute the money from your paycheck. Flex money is "use it or lose it" base.  you have to use them all before 12/31, and make claim before 3/31 next year. there is no interest at all.

Advantage:  you save your tax money, since it is pre-tax, like 401K.
Disadvantage: use it or lose it, so when you decide how much you will to put into it, you need calculate it very carefully.

多謝回復。是不是如果沒有什麼事情發生不需要用這個錢報銷的話，一年後這錢就沒有了？那誰拿去了？除了避稅外好像沒什麼好處啊？還要冒著用不掉就沒有了的險？不知我的理解對不對？

Yes, you are correct.  However, in my case, I have small kid need to stay in day care, so I put money into Dependent Flex, and I am pretty much sure I need pay some co-pay for doctor visitor, so, I put money in Health Flex too. I know some of my friends need to to Lasic, so they put almost 4k into the Health flex to take the tax advantage.  Hope this helps.
