誰是美國人

你很可能錯過了上周的這條新聞，有報道說，在巴基斯坦有人在報紙上懸賞殺死美國人，任何美國人。

因此我想我該寫點什麼，以便讓他們知道美國人是什麼，這樣他們碰到的時候可以知道：這是個美國人。

「美國人」可能是英國人，法國人，義大利人，愛爾蘭人，德國人，西班牙人，波蘭人，俄國人或者希臘人。他也可能是非洲人，印度人，中國人，日本人，南韓人，澳大利亞人，伊朗人，或其他亞洲人，還有可能是阿拉伯人，巴基斯坦人或阿富汗人。

「美國人」可能是一位基督徒，猶太教徒，佛教徒，或穆斯林。事實上，在美國的穆斯林比在阿富汗的穆斯林還多，不同的是，在美國他們有選擇敬拜誰的自由。

「美國人」還有不信任何宗教的自由。他可以只聽神的話，而不是政府，或那些自稱既代表政府又代表神的武裝暴徒。

「美國人」生活在人類歷史上最繁榮的國度，其繁榮源自於「獨立宣言」（Declaration of Independence）。該宣言確認：神把追求幸福的權力賜給每一個人。

「美國人」是慷慨的，他幫助過幾乎世界上所有其他國家，當他們有需要的時候。20年前蘇聯軍隊入侵阿富汗，「美國人」給阿富汗送去武器和供給，使他們贏回了自己的家園。計至「9.11」那天早晨，「美國人」給阿富汗的窮人送去的資助，超過世界上任何其他國家。

「美國人」不需要聽從愚昧無知而且殘忍無道的老傢伙的胡言亂語。美國男人不會被謊言愚弄以至於用自己的生命去殺死無辜的同類，從而讓那些愚蠢的老傢伙繼續掌權。而美國女人，可以根據自己的意願自由的對世界展示她們的美麗面容。

「美國人」可以自由的批評政府官員，當他從個人角度覺得官員出錯的時候。之後他可以選擇替換這些官員，通過多數票。

「美國人」歡迎各個地域，各色文化，各種宗教，因為他們沒有恐懼。他們不怕自己的歷史、自己的宗教、自己的信念會被摧毀，或遺忘。原因在於他們知道，他們可以根據個人意願自由的堅持自己的宗教、自己的信念，自己的歷史。

在「美國人」歡迎大家的同時，他們享受從全世界來的每個人提供的最好的東西：最好的科學，最好的技術，最好的產品，最好的書籍，最好的音樂，最好的食物，最好的運動員。

「美國人」歡迎最美好的，可他們也接納最不幸的。自由女神像是美國的標誌。上面雕刻著：

美國歡迎疲憊的你，
歡迎貧窮的你，
歡迎不幸被豐饒的彼岸拒絕的你，
歡迎無家可歸的你，
歡迎受暴風雨驅趕的你。

而事實上，正是這些人創建了美國的奇迹。其中的一些人，在2001年9月11日那天早晨，正懷著對美好生活的憧憬在雙子塔里工作著。

如果你覺得非做不可，那麼你就試著去殺美國人吧。希特勒試過，東條英機試過，斯大林試過，毛澤東試過，世界上其他嗜血的暴君也都試過。

但是，一旦殺了美國人，你可能也在殺死你自己。因為，美國人不是一群來自某一特定地區或特定種族的人。他們是人類自由精神的化身。任何堅持自由精神的人，無論他們身處何處，都是美國人。

你看看自己周圍。你會意外的發現，在你的土地上有那麼多的美國人。終有一天他們會行動起來，推翻那些給那麼多土地帶來麻煩的又老、又無知、又疲倦的獨裁者。這樣那些地方也會加入自由和繁榮的國家的行列。

美國將歡迎他們。

Some of the statements are our (or their) aspirations not facts. Otherwise, how could 9/11 happen on this piece of perfect land? Not on other countries such as China?

毛澤東 not only 試過, he actually did. How many American soldiers were killed in Chao Xian War? 毛澤東 did that only when he felt his country was threatened.

"一旦殺了美國人，你可能也在殺死你自己..." No, that is not true. After we killed so many American soldiers in Chao Xian, we felt much safer and more peaceful, and confident too.

On the other hand, if you say American soldiers in Chao Xian War are not 美國人, I'll agree with you. They were invaders!!! Being invaded by another country in history, Chinese just hate invaders.

而事實上，正是這些人創建了美國的奇迹。其中的一些人，在2001年9月11日那天早晨，正懷著對美好生活的憧憬在雙子塔里工作著。I agree with you completely; I condemn the extremists too.  But do US government and its foreign policies have any responsibilities for 9/11 and for this 在報紙上懸賞殺死美國人 to happen?

因為，美國人不是一群來自某一特定地區或特定種族的人。他們是人類自由精神的化身。任何堅持自由精神的人，無論他們身處何處，都是美國人。What a self-compliment! But, is George W. Bush 美國人 too? If he is, this statement is not accurate.

It's not like I want to fight with everybody. The more I live in US, the clearer I see what US is all about. I can't say US is a totally bad country, but I can't  help adding my opinions when I heard people say how good it is.

Hi.Mythologist , you should not say sorry, you did nothing wrong. This post is ZT, but I appreciated it.

For long time living in Astralia, and also I feel whom are long time in in States, Canada, England, almost of us think we are Chinese, and we try to keep everything from China, even thinking.

But if you travelling to overseas in this a special, tough time, some people will tread you as American,...then you try to kill for their believes,...whatever, they think one person kill an American per day, no matter how do you think your apperance, language, culture, background, they still tread you as American or Western.

I understand how you feel too. You are probably right on this. I wish China changes her policy so that we can have dual citicenships and are protected better.

That group of people, they are so poor that they started to think in a wrong way. Killing innocent people will not help them in any way. They are hopeless untill they have a wise leader, the calibre of Confucius, that helps them to realize that they will never better their condition unless they understand what are humanity, justice, and virtue.
