A simple four character phrase "Ba rong, ba chi" or the "eight honors, eight disgraces" raised by Chinese President Hu Jintao in March, is becoming the new moral yardstick to measure the work, conduct and attitude of Communist Party officials.

In the Chinese language the list of eight honors and disgraces reads like rhyming couplets and sounds almost poetic.[/FONT]

Be diligent; not indolent.

(I am going to quote rovi's version and edited it to the comparison. But right now, I cannot get in to Rainlane (since 1 a.m. my time). In fact, I cannot get into many BBSes   in China. I wonder why?

i have noticed that jiangqm is qingmin, a moderator at 譯網情深.

I was able to log back into Rainlane at 1:36 but before I can upload the other versions, I lost the connection again.

uncle Yeti, now at 23:42 pacific time zone, i have succeeded in logging into rainlane and entered the concerned page.

I have been having a lot of trouble logging onto several BBSes in China (including Rainlane, translators, diandian, Tianya and a few others. Chinadaily is fine and so is backChina.) Today I had no trouble until about 10 minutes ago.  By the way, I finally decided to give my own version a go, in spite of the similarity in "take pride in." I am sure TM/YC knows me long enough to know that I did not plaigarize him.
