Yeti was walking towards the barber shop when he bumped into one of the barbers on his way back to the shop.

Yeti, 「Oh, hi. Are you working today?」
Barber (looking puzzled), 「Hi, uh…?」

Yeti, 「I mean…Oh, sorry, let me start that over. Are you on a break now?」
Barber, 「I was out for a cup of coffee. I am ready when you are.」

Yeti, 「Ok.」  Walked into the shop.
Scene III:  On the Barber』s Chair.

Barber, 「How would you like it cut?」
Yeti, 「 Short, but not too short at the back.  A little bit off the top, and trim the sideburns.」

Barber: (Point at the back of Yeti』s head) 「Square」  (I.e. a square cut or a slopping cut. A square cut is when the hair is chopped off evenly. A slopping cut is when it is gradually thinned out.)
Yeti, 「Square will do.」

Barber, 「Do you want your hair parted or not parted? Here?」 (Put his comb just about 1/3 to the left.」
Yeti, 「 That』s looks fine to me.」

…(Towards the end of the haircut, the barber would apply shaving cream to the back and side of the head. He would then use a razor to shave out the stubs at the back and the side. This is the 「razor」 trimming part of the haircut. New comers (including myself) were not used to that. Many new comers thought they were to get (and have to pay for) a shave and would ask the barber not to do it.)

Barber, (Pointing to Yeti』s white eyebrows) 「Trim these?」
Yeti (Joking) 「No. They give me the distinguish look.」 ( Note: In Cantonese, we have a slang: 「Got your eyebrows shaved」 (by your opponent or enemy). I think you have that in mandarin also.)..,

Barber held up mirror so Yeti could see the back of his head.
Yeti,」Good. That looks just fine.」

Getting out of the chair. 「Thank you.」

At the cash:
Barber punched out the Senior Discount and said, jokingly, 「You are still young. We all have to keep young.」
Yeti mumbled something unintelligible. Puts on his coat. 「Thanks. Bye!」
