紫禁城樂隊

親愛的主席，88，昨天晚上我去看了一場中國民族樂器的音樂會，樂團叫 「紫禁城樂隊」. 他們全部用的都是中國樂器，二胡, 京胡，鑼鼓，鈸，笛子, 月琴, 琵琶，笙, 簫，冬不拉，哈，弦樂, 彈撥樂, 打擊樂, 吹奏樂，都有了，而且他們已經去過20多個國家演出，是高水準的呢. Jackie不熟悉中國的國樂，也不知道中國的民族樂器，我昨天一一介紹給她看，大多數樂器是從中國西域傳來的，所以在中亞, 西亞, 甚至南亞這些地區的音樂，那是比中國本土只有五音為主的古典民族樂要複雜而悅耳動聽得多的. 他們昨天演奏的大多是民樂，而其中有一段是由美國康奈爾大學音樂學院院長Daniel Walker 創作的室內樂.  中國的民樂古樂注重旋律，可以聽得出編者並沒有把所有的樂器都著重開發展開，沒有太多和弦, 是比較單調的. 也許樂器數量不夠, 表現力也不夠強大. 但這些曲子耳熟能詳，贏得聽眾的共鳴.  有美國人按照樂器的特色所編的曲子是明顯在聽覺上要比民樂更立體和音色豐富，曲目是「不見而明」. 那是如此抽象的一個意境，音樂也像巴赫的練習曲著重於對樂器的技巧的發掘，少帶情感. 那是屬於做音樂人的陽春白雪. 我記得有一次在YouTube 看見，印度的幾個玩音樂的年輕人，用印度的民族樂器手鼓和西塔琴等，演奏了他們改編的印度音樂化了的美國的流行音樂，非常動感悅耳，讓人有聞之起舞的衝動. 而紫禁城樂隊演奏的這些音樂，我覺得有一點太高雅了，缺少一點動感節奏和情感的旋律，不太符合大眾喜好. 可喜的是 Jackie 坐在那兒居然可以靜靜地很有興趣地聆聽，一點也沒有不耐煩. Jackie從小就喜歡音樂，兩三歲時帶她去加州理工學院聽學生們演奏爵士樂，她居然可以從她坐的手推車上站起來隨樂而舞. 我讓她聽清楚每一個樂器的音色，告訴她，」以後如果她作曲，或者為視頻配樂，就可以專門挑這些樂器的特別音色了. 」 她竟然說好的. 哈哈

Dear President, 88, last night I went to a concert of Chinese folk musical instruments called the "Forbidden City Band". They all use Chinese musical instruments, Erhu, Jinghu, gongs and drums, cymbals, flute, Yueqin, Pipa , Sheng, xiao, Dongbula, and String, pluck, percussion, and wind are all available, and they have performed in more than 20 countries. They are of a high standard. Jackie is not familiar with Chinese national music, nor knowing Chinese national musical instruments, I introduced them one by one yesterday. Most of the musical instruments came from the western region of China. Therefore, the music in Central Asia, West Asia, and even South Asia is more complex and pleasing than classical Chinese folk music with only five tones. Most of the music they played yesterday was folk music, and some of it was composed by Chamber music created by Daniel Walker, Dean of the School of Music, Cornell University, USA. Chinese folk music and ancient music pay attention to melody. It can be heard that the editor did not focus on developing all the instruments and did not have too many chords. It is relatively monotonous. Maybe the number of instruments is not enough, and the expression is not powerful enough. But these tunes are well-known and won the resonance of the audience. Some of the tunes compiled by Americans according to the characteristics of the instruments are obviously more three-dimensional and richer in sound than folk music. The title of the music is "invisible but known."  Artistic conception and music are like Bach's etudes. They focus on the exploration of musical instrument skills and less emotions. That's high class who belongs to musicians. I remember once on YouTube that a few young people playing music in India used Indian folk musical instruments such as tambourines and taqins, they played American pop music adapted to Indian music. They are very dynamic and pleasing to the ear. I feel that the music played by the Forbidden City Band is a little bit Too elegant, lacking a little dynamic rhythm and emotional melody, which is not in line with popular preferences. Fortunately, Jackie can sit quietly and listen with great interest without any impatience. Jackie has loved music since childhood. When she was three years old, I took her to California Institute of Technology to listen to the students playing jazz, and she could stand up from her trolley and dance. I let her hear sounds of each instrument, I told her, "In the future, if you compose music or composes videos, you can pick out the special sounds of these instruments. "She even said yes. Haha
