American hawks and American Future

America has encountered more and more problems internally and externally.  Every American knows the Iraqi war has drawn large amount of American money as well as sacrificed thousands of American lives. But few of them know that the war has missed the target.  Now, even the America  recognized that the 9-11 attack was not launched by Saddem Hussein, the president of Iraq but some other country or groups.

Similar mistakes have been committed many times by American bellicose politicians or powerful people who mostly come from the Congress, the military or the arm manufacturing industry.  The Iraqi war is only the most recent one, there were still many others in history, like the Korean war and the Vietnam war.

Before the Iraqi war, the American hawks believed that after the war they could reap at lease 3 victorious results.  First, gasoline price would be greatly reduced, second, more countries in the Middle East would turn to the democratic free-suffrage political system, and the third, the American military power might intimidate those 「rogue countries」 and convince the world.  And thereafter, American leadership in the world would not be challenged in the world.   

Now, the Iraqi war was namely finished, but the results were all out of the expectation.  First, the gasoline price has not come down.  Before the war American gasoline price was about $1.50 per gallon.  Now it is over $2.50 per gallon.  The second, it turns out that more and more Muslim countries in the Middle East becomes hostile to America.

Compare the following aspects, we know what were the differences before the war and after the war.

American Diplomacy:
Saudi Arab, since the 9-11 event, so many Saudi Arabians have been rounded up as suspected terrorists has turned his back to the US ever since.

Iraq:  Though transformed in its political system by the US, its new government is not  cooperative, and many more American soldiers lives are still being sacrificed on the land.  The worst is, the incumbent fundamentalist Muslim government is getting closer with Iran, an American hated most Muslim country.

Iran:  In view of the US invasion of Iraq, has strengthened its military forces to its utmost.  Nuclear power plants have been established, and to produce nuclear weapon is just a matter of time.

North Korea:  Rgardless of American repeat warnings, has publicly announced that he has been a nuclear country urging to join the Nuclear Country Association.  In other words, North Korea has had nuclear weapons.

Russia, for a long time being unhappy with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization to intervene
his East European Allies perceived the crisis of  being disorganized has kept strengthened his nuclear power.  Russia announced two weeks ago that he would provide nuclear fuel to Iran.  Also, during Russian』s  recent 60 Anniversaries of Country Defending ceremony in Moscow,  President Putin publicly declared that he would shoot down any outer space military-purposed
devices which the American Bush government was exactly planning to do.

Diplomatic Relationship with China.
Ever since Mao and Chou met with American president Richard Nixon, and Henry Kissinger in 1972, American had a good chance to ally China.  After the Korean War, China urged the Soviet Union for help to develop atomic bombs.  China was denied and Soviet withdrew all his technical technicians leaving China』s atomic development plan in vain.  Thereafter, China and Soviet Union were at odd for a long fifteen years.

Before Mao and Chou met American president Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger in 1972,  Mao and Chou had had the idea to switch China』s diplomatic policy from Soviet Union to the USA.  American hawks blocked the way for three reasons, first, China was far from the match of  the United States  in whatever military,  political, economics or international diplomatic powers.  Second, American Hawks considered that as long as Taiwan was under their control, China would also be contained.  Third, American military could not forget their unsuccessful Korean war with China that made them losing face.  So, they gave up the idea to treat China in an equal status and lost a chance to rally China as one of his allies.  If the history can be dated back and the US changed the then policy, the situation of the present world may be totally changed.

The Taiwan issue has long been a stumbling block on the road of  the US-China cooperation.  The US has been trying to use Taiwan as a balanced weight to restrict China.  But apparently this effect is getting dimmer and dimmer.  As China is getting more powerful as time goes by, Taiwan has not the power to contain China. And if the conflict keeps going on, Taiwan may be the one that sacrifices the most once the war is erupted.  World military specialists analyze that China now has the power to destroy or ruin Taiwan in a couple of hours.  The analysis may mean to use nuclear power. But never say never, when a war explodes between the US and China to the extent of using nuclear weapons.  The first to suffer an overall annihilation is Taiwan!  So, nuclear weapon to settle Taiwan problem is not impossible!

The Iraqi war dragged China apart even more.  America and China dialogues turn more indifferently.  Now, the US has perceived the weakness to use Taiwan as a balance weight.  Taiwan cannot hold China back any more.  And a shift of policy may be necessary if America does not want a  third war with China.  American intellects have perceived the intricate feeling.  Therefore, no matter how serious argument exists between the two countries, they keep their sophisticated dialogues.  

American Hawks and American Future
Few Americans know the launch of a war is on the hands of  a  few people.  American president and the congress are namely the responsible men to have such power, but more important is that a bunch of  「hawks」 do have significant influence toward the congress and the president.  Their interests usually determine the war or peace.

Neither not many Americans know that the hawks foreign policy has a close relationship with the average American well-beings.  Undoubtedly, a war shall sacrifice American lives, spend American savings (like the fund of social security), and degrade American living quality.

In the eyes of some wise people, American endowed with a super rich territorial continent, should have the best living quality in the world and envied by other countries and people.

In fact, American has not reached such a goal and some other people are even hostile to American.  To search for the reasons, we have to conclude that it is the result of the unnecessary wars launched by the American hawks.

Does America still have chances to lead the world?  My answer is positive, and it must adopt a peaceful way.  First, American should contain his self-complacence over others.  Second, America should give up using military forces, extend a branch of olive toward other countries initiatively.  American should have learned that the best way to assimilate other is by properly using riches and culture not by the forces.
