Ford Tempo, 91年。23萬公里。我每4千公里換一次油。每兩次換油之間，要補加兩次，一次近一升。消耗太多了吧？但是，後面並沒有冒煙現象。請問，是什麼原因？謝謝！

you got it.

you might have three options for oil burning.

1) add oil treatment for minor oil leaking into combustion chamber (your car smokes blue when being started or accelerated). people around here apply PRO (a brand name).

2) replace with a low mileage after-market engine if your car puffs up all the time and upset your neighbors. the replacement should not cost you more than US$600.

3) engine overhaul. i believe it is impractical. you need to pay the mechanic for over a thousand US $s.
