第一幕

　　一場：氤氳江南                     

　　絕美佳人，沉魚山水為之失色。 范蠡（越王的臣子）與西施一見鍾情，奈何江山傾覆，家國不在，難守朝暮。

　　Scene 1   South of the Yangtze River, Covered with Enshrouding Mist

　　Xi Shi is an exceedingly beautiful young lad, and falls in love with Fan Li (a minister of the King of Yue State) at first sight. However, they are forced to separate because the country is defeated and the home is lost.

　　二場：籬下屈辱

　　吳王入侵勢如破竹，留越王苟且偷生，百般屈辱，江山破碎。

　　Scene 2 Humiliation besides the Fence

　　King of Wu State invades the Yue State with irresistible force，leaving the King of Yue State to drag out an ignoble existence. Facing the defeated country and suffered people, the King of Yue State endures the humiliation in order to stage a comeback.

　　三場：良臣美計

　　范蠡獻計：使美人西施入吳宮，令吳王耽於美色，失民心，裡應外合謀取江山。

　　Scene 3   Honey-trap Proposed by Good Minister

　　Fan Li proposes a honey-trap to present the beauty Xi Shi to the King of Wu State, who afterward, indulges in debauchery, uses tyranny and loses much popular supports. Then the King of Yue State overthrows the rule of King of Wu State.

　　四場：吳宮夜宴

　　奢靡驕縱的吳宮，瓊姬盼來了凱旋而歸的父王與賓客嬪妃窮奢狂歡。 越王與范蠡獻媚，引西施入宮。吳王驚為天人，恕越王與范蠡返越，留下西施美人獨守吳國。

　　Scene 4 Banquet at Imperial Palace of Wu State

　　In extravagant, arrogant and willful palace of Wu State, Qiong Ji (the daughter of King of Wu State) greets his father coming back victorious from battlefield. The King of Wu State is lapped in luxury and rejoices with wild excitement with his imperial concubines. The king of Yue State and Fan Li present the beauty Xi Shi to the King of Wu State, who overjoys owning Xi Shi, pardons and sends the King of Yue State back to Yue State, only leaving Xi Shi in State Wu.

　　Act II

　　一場：宮心計

　　荷色艷麗，西施貌美，得吳王專寵，沉迷酒色

　　瓊姬痛苦的忍受著父淫國變，恍惚中，越王苦心孤詣，重整旗鼓，一鼓作氣，勢逼吳宮。

　　Scene 1 Palace Scheming

　　Xi Shi is as beautiful as the lotus, and becomes the beloved of the King of Wu State, making him addicted to wine and women. Qiong Ji suffers from her father being profligate and devoid of principles, while the King of Yue State determines to be extraordinarily persistent and makes painstaking efforts, hoping to rally forces again, and finally impends over the Wu State .

　　二場：淫無度

　　為父王，為吳國，瓊姬敬言越國美色計。吳王大怒，遣愛女出宮面湖思過。

　　西施美色，縱吳宮荒淫無度。糾結在長年的愛恨忠義中：情絲難斷，情仇恨難填。

　　Scene 2 Excessive Indulgence in Lewdness

　　For the sake of her father and the state, Qiong Ji puts on a performance hoping to debunk the conspiracy, but displease her father. As a result, the father sends his daughter to ponder upon her 「faults」 besides the lake. Xi Shi makes use of her beauty to indulge the King of Wu State in lewdness. Entangled with love and hatred for years, Xi Shi cannot broke her ties of love with the three men.

　　三場：怨別離

　　越國圍城，吳王落魄離宮，求瓊姬獻身越王保命救國，然愛女守貞投湖。越王賜死吳王。吳王不悔，為美人西施，寧舍江山。

　　Scene 3 Sorrow Farewell

　　Besieged by the forces of Yue State, the King of Wu State is defeated and flee down and out, asking his daughter to sacrifice herself to the King of Yue State, but his daughter refuses and commits suicide. Then the King of Yue State forces the King of Wu State to commit suicide. The King of Wu State never regrets for his faults and loves beauty Xi Shi more than his power.

　　四場：浣紗女

　　一切愛恨情仇都已漸行漸遠，西施的心已隨吳越家國沉入太湖(這裡指西施絕望投湖，香消玉殞---西施自殺了)。唯有那閃爍的蓮花相伴浣紗女重生於複合的江山，永生於世。。。

　　Scene 4 a Lad Washing Gauze

　　Love and hate fads away, desperate and depressed, Xi Shi drowns herself in Tai lake, leaving the bright lotus to accompany witness her renascence, making her moving story passes from generation to generation.
