Re-do the translations of some "Words of Wit"

I have seen several versions of these same "Words of Wit." Unfortunately, for each version, there are always some errors or sloppiness in the translations. Hope the new translations in the following will be of some help (to those unawaring of the subtlties and for better, will make a difference to separate this site from the other sites that are still blind to...).
