Sandy Hook Elementary Massacre is 7th major shooting incident in the U.S. in
2012.  Listed below are the others.

April 2, 2012 - A gunman shoots ten people killing seven in a shooting
rampage at Oikos University, a Christian college in Oakland, Calif.

July 20, 2012 - James Holmes shoots 70 people, killing 12, during a massacre
on at a movie theater opening of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colo.

August 5, 2012 - A gunman, Wade Page, kills six people during Sunday
services at a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisc., before he is shot dead by a
police officer.

August 24, 2012 - Ten people are shot, 2 killed, by disgruntled former
employee Jeffrey Johnson in a shooting outside the Empire State Building in
New York City.

September 27, 2012 - A disgruntled former employee killed five people and
then commits suicide after a shooting rampage at a Minneapolis sign company.

October 21, 2012 – Three people were killed at a spa near Milwaukee when
Radcliffe Haughton opened fire.  Those killed included his wife. Haughton
killed himself.

December 14, 2012 – A shooter, Ryan Lanza, opens fire at the Sandy Hook
Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, killing at least 27 people
including 18 children.
